More Food Begin Manufacturing Indulgent, Vegan Friendly Cakes
More Food, part of the Cake Brands group, have recently began manufacturing wholesale vegan products for foodservice and retail customers, with production starting in July 2018 following extensive product development and research.
It it crucial that that factory, which is BRC graded, follows strict segregation for manufacturing vegan products to ensure minimal or no cross contamination of any animal related products. All manufacturing areas are swabbed and texted to ensure no traces of animal proteins are present in the manufacturing area before starting to manufacture vegan product lines. All ingredients are sourced from BRC certified companies and declared vegan friendly.
A recent launch with a major UK high street pharmacy of an own label point of sale bar uses dark Belgian chocolate within the frosting to enhance the rich flavour and give a point of difference to standard vegan chocolate cakes available on the market: an indulgent quality.
Another similar recent launch includes a vegan banana loaf cake which is a foodservice product for a national coffee shop chain which uses fresh bananas.

Cake Brands Help Celebrate 70 Years Of The NHS
More Food, part of the Cake Brands group, have helped celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS by donating some of their best selling cakes to local hospitals as they host tea parties for their patients.
Love Your Hospital is a dedicated charity for the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, who contacted More Food earlier this year to raise their awareness of the events to celebrate the anniversary.
Soon after being approached by Love Your Hospital, the team at More Food sent samples to both the hospitals and the charity. They supplied the tea parties with Raspberry Victoria Sponge cakes filled with raspberry jam and a light whipped buttercream, as well as Chocolate Fudge cakes topped with delicious chocolate fudge and Belgian milk chocolate curls. Between the hospitals, a total of 1,200 of More Food’s most popular and best selling cakes were donated.
A team of 11 worked on this project, with two baking, two icing and finishing, one cutting and six packing. More Food received specially made labels for the packaging featuring the Love Your Hospital logo, which were placed by hand on to each individual cake on the packing line, one by one.
The More Food team personally delivered the cakes to the hospitals on Monday 2nd July to St. Richards Chichester and Worthing hospitals.
“We feel privileged to have been asked to be a part of the celebration and share our delicious cakes with the patients of the local hospitals”, says Jayson Schieb, Managing Director of More Food, “we’re really excited to help with similar upcoming charity events in the future”.
